Review: Terminator Salvation

Just so you know, I usually pick movies I know I am going to like. Being a sci-fi fan and someone who has seen all the Terminator series, plus watched the Sarah Conner Chronicles since aired, taking in this long-awaited Terminator was a no brainer. We went to a matinee. The theater was one third filled.
It was very LOUD. Very fast moving with nary a dull moment. Lots of shooting and explosions. The MACHINES were terrifyingly mind blowing. Needless to say, all this sped up my heart rate and had me writhing and stomping in my seat. I think I even raised my arms above my head and screamed a least 4 times. I am not the least bit passive while watching any movie.
How was the story, you ask? I won't give it away. It all makes sense in the big picture which is how J.C. (!) goes about setting up the next story of how he will be born. He does get help from an unlikely source. I suppose it will be received well although the 'story' is not as strong as I would have liked. It does suffice for the genre of loud, shooting, explosive, science fiction films
How was the acting, you ask? All believable since I was jumping around in my seat so much. The actors emoted and grimaced, howled and stared off into space, argued and flirted as well as should be expected given the amounts of money they were all paid. Not a lot of dialogue all of which was delivered in the same apocalyptic manner.

How were the FX, you ask? Amazing, we even get to see Arnie as he looked back in the day. All in all, the Sky Net future is one scary place for humans to try and eek out an existence running in abject terror from bad, bad contraptions.
